Trail Closure and re-route Notice for Orillia Section
The trail in the Orillia section from km 7.0 to approximately km
18.0 where the trail meets the Mara Line 13 road allowance is now
closed until further notice. North of the Monk Road from km 12.3 to km
7.0 a new stone quarry has blocked the trail. South of the Monk Road
from km 14.2 to the 13th Line has a large swampy area that is impassable.
That section of the trail has now been re-routed as follows:
If hiking west at km 7.0 stay on the paved county road through
Sebright to the 13th Line of Mara. Turn right and follow to where this
gravel road meets Sideroad 5 and curves to the left. Continue straight
ahead on the dirt track following the pole line until you pick up the
trail markers in a short distance. Do not turn right into the swamp but
continue following the markers directly ahead.
If hiking east at approximately km 18.0 on the 13th Line of Mara do
not turn left into the swamp. Follow the pole
line out to the road and continue east to the paved county road then
turn left. Follow this road through Sebright to km 7.0 where you will
pick up the trail markers again. Do not turn left but go straight ahead following the markers.
