Ganaraska
Hiking Trail Association Clubs The
following clubs make up the Ganaraska Hiking Trail Association. Club presidents
are noted with each club.
Barrie Club is responsible for 48 kilometres of trail that runs south-west from the Horseshoe Valley area. The club runs a programme of hikes and bicycle outings in the area around Barrie as well as more distant outings. Contact: Brian Williamson (705) 728-6311
Kawartha Club maintains 77 kilometres of trail through the Kawartha Lakes area, from Omemee north to Moore Falls. The club runs a regular programme of Wednesday walks and weekend hikes in the areas around Peterborough, Lindsay, and Fenelon Falls. Contact: Rose Millett (705) 639-2431 rmillett@primus.ca
Mad River Club has a 50 kilometre section of trail that runs more or less west through Angus and Glencairn. They have a regular programme of hikes in the surrounding area out to the Bruce Trail. Contact: Major Jeremy Bonnar (705) 739-7519 bonnar.jh3@forces.gc.ca
Midland Club maintains the final 16 kilometres of trail that ends at the Wye marsh Wildlife Centre. They organize an active programme of hiking, biking, kayaking and snowshoeing. Contact: Marc Vallee (705) 527-1967
Orillia Club is responsible for 69 kilometres of trail east and west of Orillia. They offer a regular programme of both long and short hikes on the same day in a wide area around Orillia including Muskoka. Contact: Maxine Freeland (705) 326-0761 mfreeland@sympatico.ca
Oro-Medonte Club maintains 18.5 kilometres of trail north of the Horseshoe Valley area. The club organizes a programme of hikes which includes the local area, over to Owen Sound and up into Muskoka. Contact: Bob Marshall 728-8985 blmarshall2@gmail.com
Pine Ridge
Club is based in the area around Port Hope and Cobourg at
the southern end of the trail. They have a regular programme of
weekly hikes in the surrounding Northumberland County. Contact:

Wasaga Beach Club maintains 49 kilometres of trail that ends at the north of Allenwood Beach in Wasaga Beach. Due to a large family membership they have an active programme of hiking, canoeing and cycling in that area. Contact: Elaine and Roy Schoenberger (705) 429-7784 royel64@gmail.com
Wilderness Club draws its members from across southern Ontario. Because of the challenges posed by the 65 km. of wilderness terrain and the need to backpack multi-day hikes, the club organizes a limited number of hikes and one or two maintenance weekends each season.
